From Blakeney to Wells-next-the-Sea via the Coastal PathWide horizons in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Start: 22 October 2017 10:00 am
Venue: Blakeney Village Hall
MARSH MAGIC: From Blakeney to Wells-next-the-Sea via the Coastal PathWide horizons in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty: see thousands of birds in the air, on the Marsh, in the Water. Our aim is to ensure that all who walk will enjoy nature at its best, Marsh Harriers ,Mallards, Marigolds & Muntjac deer, a multiplicity of magical moments. Mmm.
It’s a 7.5 mile walk, (a marathon for little legs) thus we suggest 8 years+.
We expect a balmy Autumn day, but you should wear suitable foot and outerwear, to match the conditions on the day. We intend to make it of interest to all ages; competition for the children – but parents may want to keep pace. Things that fly; creatures that lurk in the tidal waters; plants that grow abundantly here, but nowhere else in Norfolk.
There are no cafes, pubs on the route so bring a packed lunch and drink. You will be guided by experienced walkers; but we also hope to have on hand, knowledgeable people who can help you identify, the wildlife you see and hear. It is a linear walk from the Village Hall in Blakeney, to Wells, your return will be by special transport from Wells back to Blakeney. Car park in Blakeney is free; there will be a charge of £5pp for the walk to cover the cost of the return transport.
The MAGIC is that the walk and enjoyment come FREE – and who knows you might win a prize. Make it an event to remember – Norfolk Ramblers’ invites, Grandma, Grandad, Mum, Dad, Children, all the family. Join us and together we will enjoy scenery, wild life and the friendly chatter.
A MUST date for your diary: Sunday 22nd October 2017. Bring the dog as well!
