Emotional welcome as heart transplant patient Kieran reaches Cromer on round Britain walk
A heart transplant patient received a warm welcome when he arrived in Cromer on the latest leg of a 5,000 mile trek around the coast of Britain.
Cromer deputy mayor John Frosdick joined members to the town’s Walkers are Welcome group to greet his arrival at the resort.
Mr Sandwell, from Berkhampstead in Hertfordshire was born with a heart defect called transposition of the great arteries and had a life saving transplant eight years ago.
He is due to arrive in Cley today (Monday) and is set to reach King’s Lynn on Wednesday.
Mr Frosdick said: “Kieran was very pleased with the turnout of people to see him and was quite emotional. The walk is equivalent to climbing Everest 12 times which is not something I would like to do.”
